Details

Dacrylate 47 line is a high build vinyl sheen finish coating (Please note we can also suplly this product in a gloss finish if required)

The product is ideal for application to plastisol cladding and is laso used for the protection of mild steel and galvanised steel, including lighting columns, street furniture, metal fencing plus general industrial plants.

Details

Paint preparation before use:

Mix paint thoroughly by stirring and continually agitate the product, for homogeneity and consistency.

Mixing ratio by volume: N/A Surface preparation:

All surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry and free from contamination. Prior to paint application all surfaces should be assessed and treated in accordance with ISO 8504:2000.

Mild steel, clean and free of millscale:

Thoroughly degrease using Dacrylate Thinner R5.

Mild steel, corroded and/or millscale present: Abrasive blasting to ISO 8501-1 SA2.5 is the preferred method. Manual clean: Chip, scrape and power wire brush to remove all loose rust, millscale, etc to ISO 8501-1, ST3.

Degrease with Dacrylate Thinner R5.

Galvanising (new): Ensure surface is cleaned and dry. Pre-treat with Dacrylate Mordant Solution (‘T’ Wash), ref: 150-23. Normally applied over Vinadac MIO Galvanising (weathered): Wash down with detergent water and use a stiff brush to remove any deposits of white zinc salts and 

Cladding: Clean thoroughly with a commercial degreaser and power wash with water. Any rust aress should be taken back and treated with a suitable primer

how to apply dacrylate acrylic vinyl sheen

Application conditions:

This material should preferably be applied at temperatures in excess of 10°C. Relative humidity should not exceed 90% and in these conditions good ventilation is essential. Substrate temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point and always above 0°C. Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C. At application temperatures below 10°C, drying and curing times will be significantly extended, and spraying characteristics may be impaired.

Airless spray: Tip size: 11-13thou (0.27-0.33mm) Tip pressure: 2750psi (193bar) Conventional spray: Tip size: 55 thou (1.4mm) Tip pressure: 40-60psi (2.7-4.1bar)

Brush application: Apply using a ‘full’ wet brush. Avoid excessive ‘brushing out’. Do not ‘lay-off’.

Roller application: Apply using a ‘full’ wet roller. Avoid excessive ‘rolling out’. Do not ‘lay-off’.

Thinning: 5-10% of Dacrylate Thinner R5 may be required when spraying the product to achieve optimum spray characteristics. Clean-up: Clean all equipment after use with Dacrylate Thinner R5.

Do not allow product to remain in hoses, guns or spray equipment. All surplus product should be disposed of in accordance with appropriate regional regulations/legislation.
