before using leylands trade wood primer

Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease.

Rub down bare timber surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to remove raised grain and sharp edges.

Apply Knotting Solution to knots and resinous surfaces. Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.

Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

how to apply leylands trade wood primer
