Method 1 – as a base coat.
Natural Hardwax Oil should not be used as a base coat on darker coloured timbers. To change the appearance of light coloured timbers as little as possible, brush (not roller) on a thin coat of Natural Hardwax Oil. To avoid a patchy finish it is important that the Natural base coat is applied evenly.
To avoid overlap marks wipe the wet surface lightly with a lint free cloth to distribute the colour evenly. Allow to dry.
Once dry, seal with two coats of Treatex Clear Hardwax Oil
Method 2 – as a top coat.
For a brighter white seal our Spruce Colour Tone by using a brush or roller to evenly apply Natural Hardwax Oil allowing roughly 50ml per m².
Allow to dry then apply with a brush or roller a second coat of Natural Hardwax Oil, again allowing roughly 50ml per m². Allow to dry thoroughly overnight before the surface is lightly used.
